Here are photo instructions for making
our Baby Jesus in a Manger craft.  This
is a great activity to do with children
around Christmas, and they love having
fun with the different textured materials.
Step 1
Have children color in their baby
Jesus templates.
Step 2
After coloring, glue a small piece of
sand paper at the foot of the bed.
Step 3
Have a small pile of raffia pieces for
children to use as hay.  Older children
can have fun cutting their own.
Step 4
Glue the raffia to the hay parts of the
manger.
Step 5
Provide children with small rectangles
of scrap cloth. Glue just the bottom to
cover baby Jesus.
Step 6
Add glue to the halo around baby
Jesus' head.

  • Baby Jesus Printable Template
  • Coloring Materials

  • Sandpaper
  • Raffia (optional)

075408: The Shepherd"s Christmas The Shepherd's Christmas
By Concordia Publishing House

For more than 35 years, the best-selling Arch &#174 Books Bible story series has captivated children. Each book presents a complete Bible story in a fun-to-read way children can understand and remember. This book retells the Christmas story from the shepherd's viewpoint (Luke 2:1-20). Softcover from Concordia. Recommended for ages 5-9.
You will need to print one of these for
each child.  Printing on cardstock will
make these more durable to hold up the
hay and the glitter.
